Developing Your Own Quilt Journal

  • Quilting is a time for:

    • Fellowship with other quilters – gather a group of friends, add in some food (not near your quilts, please!) and enjoy a good time.  :o)

    • Prayer – I find this especially when sewing at the machine.  Someone comes to mind and so I’ll spend time in prayer for him or her.

    • “Listening” to movies – The movie has to be something I’ve seen a few times, otherwise I get caught up in the movie and don’t get any quilting done!  LOL

    • Listening to books on tape or CD

  • Your Quilt Journal:

    • Keeps you organized

      • Include personalized sections for:

        • Supplies needed

        • Work (Hopefully) In Progress [W(H)IP]

        • Ideas and inspiration

        • Book & pattern lists

          • Your personal library

          • Want to buy lists

        • Finished quilts

        • And more!

    • Is portable

      • Take to quilt stores

      • Show it to friends

      • Take to quilt shows

    • Easily expands into individual notebooks as sections grow over time

      • As your notebook begins to fill, you may notice the need for one or more sections to become notebooks of their own.  These sections can be easily moved into another notebook and expanded to include new dividers for this specialized notebook of interest.

Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.  1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 NIV

Though the fig tree does not blossom and there is no fruit on the vines, [though] the product of the olive fails and the fields yield no food, though the flock is cut off from the fold and there are no cattle in the stalls, Yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will exult in the [victorious] God of my salvation! [Rom 8:37.]  The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds' feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!  Habakkuk 3:17-19 AMP
